PMGF Alumni Committee

When Fellows return from their six week placements, they become part of a wider alumni network of young people who have committed to sharing their learning back in the UK. The Alumni Committee was elected by the Fellows it represents to liaise between the British Council and the enormous resource of its 300 members.

The committee have got 2010 off to a great start and their plans are already underway for what will be a busy and exciting year for all 300 Fellows. From starting a social-enterprise to raise funds to arranging their own conference for International Education Week, the Committee have shown great energy and enthusiasm in their role. The latest Alumni newsletter was published in April and the latest issue can be read here .

GRANTS FOR ACTIVITY

The Global Fellowship project team welcomes applications from all Alumni members seeking financial support for activity which demonstrates a clear commitment to upholding and communicating the key messages of the programme to the wider community, underlining the importance of understanding the changes going on in the world around us, the social, economic and environmental impact of living and working in a global economy and how best to prepare future generations in the UK to be successful in a highly competitive and dynamic marketplace.  A commitment to learn from and a willingness to engage in dialogue with other cultures is an essential part of this.

If you’ve got an idea for funding, you can download our   application, complete it and send it to info@global-fellowship.org.

We can support requests for materials, resources, second class public transport, printing costs, and communication costs.

We cannot support requests for computer hardware, training course fees, salary costs, international travel or domestic air travel.

We accept applications from individuals, groups and from the Alumni Committee on behalf of all its members.   Our maximum grant for individual applications is £1,000

If you are unsure about any part of the process or have any questions regarding putting in an application for a grant, please contact us by email or call +44 (0)20 7389 4465 to speak to one of the team.
